Aftermarket oil cooler for om606. Sandwich plate necessary? - 606110 - 05-22-2018 Is a thermostatic sandwich plate necessary for using a larger oil cooler with the om606 or do peope just add fittings to the end of the existing oil lines to/from the filter assembly? Thanks RE: Aftermarket oil cooler for om606. Sandwich plate necessary? - AlanMcR - 05-22-2018 What you are asking isn't entirely clear. The oil filter block has a built in thermostatic switch. There were a number of different oil filter + cooler designs for the OM606a. If your filter has hoses, then the flow should already be thermostatically controlled. The factory coolers seem well sized for the oil line size. Adding a bigger cooler may not make much of a difference. You could add a more powerful fan if you think that the cooling is insufficient. Then you can use any cooler you want. |
