High Mileage Award - Rudolf_Diesel - 12-31-2009 Just got this from MBUSA via FEDEX today... In about 11,000 miles I qualify for the 500,000 km RE: High Mileage Award - JB3 - 12-31-2009 I did that also, aren't those nice? The White de-laminates though, it fell out of my star and km area after about 15,000 miles on the front of the car. Worth coating with something to prevent that RE: High Mileage Award - Rudolf_Diesel - 01-01-2010 I think I might frame it with the cert. RE: High Mileage Award - CID Vicious - 01-02-2010 How much does that cost? I don't think my 240D qualifies (182k on a broken odo) but my 300D does! RE: High Mileage Award - Rudolf_Diesel - 01-03-2010 It is free, just do a search on google for the form and fill it out. Go to local MB dealer and have them verify - all they did was look at odometer. It took about 6 weeks to recieve after mailing. RE: High Mileage Award - CID Vicious - 01-03-2010 Sweet! I heard they have a 500k mile badge too, haven't seen a W123 that 'well used' myself though. RE: High Mileage Award - E300TSC - 01-03-2010 Nice! My '98 is due for a badge but I'm too embarrassed by the ragged condition of the interior to take it to the dealer for them to verify the mileage... RE: High Mileage Award - Rudolf_Diesel - 01-03-2010 My brother knows a guy here in the L.A. area that had a TD with a documented 1,000,000 miles (could have been km). A local dealer wanted to give him a fairly new Mercedes as a trade so they could put it in there showroom. He declined the offer and shortly thereafter the engine died. I think I would have made the trade and looked for another wagon. The next award is at 312,000 miles (500,000km). I think there is one for 750,000km and for 1,000,000km RE: High Mileage Award - JB3 - 01-04-2010 theres a catch with the badges, I had the first two, the 250,000 Km and the 500,000 km, but the final bar is 1 million MILES, not kilometers after the 750,000 km marker. Sneaky. In other words its 1,609,344 km. Once you break 750,000 km, you are just over half way done with getting all 4 badges. My understanding originally was that if you made it to 1 million miles they gave you a car, is that still in effect? still a fun thing to do even without that, my experience was that they do the most cursory review of the odometer as well. Does not matter if its the original engine or anything evidently. RE: High Mileage Award - Rudolf_Diesel - 01-04-2010 (01-04-2010, 09:36 AM)dropnosky theres a catch with the badges, I had the first two, the 250,000 Km and the 500,000 km, but the final bar is 1 million MILES, not kilometers after the 750,000 km marker. A "service advisor" and I use that term loosely, went out and looked at the vehicle. All he did was look at odometer. It was funny because nobody, not even the service manager new about the award. RE: High Mileage Award - CID Vicious - 01-04-2010 Well, the 'payin' real good attention' award goes to me. Kilometers, not miles, but the cool thing is that: 250k km = Result: 155342.8 Miles So both of my cars qualify for a 250k badge. The 300D, at 305405 on the odo, came out to 491501.7 km. So, so close...gotta get the bowden cable fixed and do something about this air seepage, and start cruising that thing back and forth to LA a few times, get that last 8.5k km...nah. Next owner can do that ;-). |
