http://mercedes-190.co.uk/topic/218059/1/ references using the 618 on a benz. He says that the throwout needs to be 20mm longer, which correlates somewhat with this post re bmw http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/sho...m20-clutch

And now I see the same problem as the 745. The BMW flywheels are all flush mounted. Interestingly enough I measured the 228mm and the 215mm clutch exhibit the same height difference as listed in that bimmer forums ~3.7mm diff.

Turns out I have a place around the corner from work that specializes in clutch parts. http://www.clutchspecialty.com/ We'll see what we come up with.

This place is down in the ghetto, I know because I used to live ~4 blocks away. Walk in and its to old white hairs running the place, owner comes out and start shootin the shit. You just cant get service like this on ebay. He is going to custom build 6 puck sinter and move the pivot points on the clutch for $250. Best part is that both of them live right around the corner from me out in the burbs and both are benz guys. It's not the -618 solution but the price is unbeatable and I think it will hold. More clamping and sinter should do the job for me.

It is a sprung 6 puck sinter and its in and holding. Definitely needs breaking in but is survivable. Now to drive like a little old lady for the next month.

Cool. I'd love to hear your driving impressions once you feel like it's broken in.
