I prefer citric acid, it won't hurt you and tastes good too
$30-$40 is good considering I paid about $100.00 from Kartek and they send it out.
I do have a bottle of citric acid.... haha, I forgot about it

(06-17-2011, 09:34 PM)dieselboy Mine had that too. I made a socket an ended up not needing it for the spare trans.
I'll look to see if I still have it.

Lol that looks exactly like the one I made.
(06-19-2011, 12:23 PM)aaa Weird, I was somehow able to install the oil squirter on mine. Or at least I don't remember discarding it.

Hahahahaha. I cut my output on the first trans to make a socket only to find out that my other trans had a 12pt!
Hope the trans is going ok! I've had the goofy 4 notch AND 12pt nuts on various different transmissions and diffs in my family.
I just put the the SD back together. I dont see a way of converting it to a mechanical speedo...

Yeah I probly could have, but how long will the speedo last? I don't want to have to take things back apart again... It was lubed for a reason
Ohhhhh Baby! $80 coating job for free!
Thanks to the guys @ Engineered Apps http://engineeredapps.com/
Its got the standard ceramic covered with the high temp black ceramic. The silver ceramic does the corrosion resistance and the black takes care of the high temps. The Black is very thin, that is why they shoot the thicker silver underneath to keep the corrosion resistance in case the black is scratched off.
Beautiful!
Got My compressor housing from Rudolf...
FINALLY got time to start work on the Benz again. Stripped most of the paint of the intake
Is that the same one in earlier posts? Thats custom right? Water to air intercooler I presume.

When you actually going to put this thing together?
Hey Capt, what gasket are you going to use on the intake? I was thinking a thicker type (even possibly a plastic spacer) would do wonders in keeping the heat transfer from the heads to a minimum.

Awesome. What's the high stall converter from?
'85 300D If I remember correctly. The thread on it is here: http://www.superturbodiesel.com/std/thre...+converter
Got a good amount done this weekend.

(05-29-2012, 09:08 AM)dropnosky I need to take my fish oil supplements
Looks like you are making things happen though, I have the same problem with a backlog of projects all over creation. You make headway on one, only at the expense of the other. And of course, new project ideas are always popping up!

All oil lines are completed, just need some nice hose clamps. Also Need to fab a hard mount for the filter housing to hold it in place.
So next thing is to order $120 worth of stuff from Silicone Intakes to plump the charge tube from the turbo to the Intercooler, and for proper air filter plumbing and clamps. Since Rudolf was using a bigger turbo, he had it easy, only needed one 90° bend. I need to get sick with it, haha See here...
Things left:
[undefined=undefined]Mount oil filter housing
install drive shaft and trans linkage
throttle linkage
Plumbing from turbo to intercooler
IC cooling system plumbing[/undefined]
How much boost is the .60 trim capable of putting out?
Maybe I missed it in the thread earlier, but why the remote oil filter? Glad to here some news on the project, BTW!

YEEEEE HAAAWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey,
Can you post more pictures of the oil filter housing relocation ? Pictures of how the lines run, how it is mounted, et cet ? Please! Also, can you identify what those fittings are ? Their sizes, or at least how one would go about buying fittings for this operation. I got those plates, but no clue about fittings, their sizes, what is needed, e.g., ID, et cet. I think the forum would benefit greatly ! If not, I know I will.
So I got the her running last weekend. Oh man she sounds so good. Peppy as f*ck too! Then started her up cold today, little under 60°, about half a revolution and she was purring along. Just need to get fans mounted to radiator, trans linkage and drive shaft hooked up, then throttle linkage and she should be rollin!
Way to go Captain!!!!!
Mine lopes like that with the rack damper all the way in lol, I have the idle set around 1k to help smooth it out otherwise it shakes the car. I guess I should probably change the damper, and probably engine shocks

Yup one shock here too. And I tried tightening the damper a bunch of turns but to no avail
