Not that I'm planning too... the gt2256v seems fine in this regard. But I heard you shouldn't.

I get the feeling they have that pin on the exhaust housing for a reason though.

For factory assembly.

You've got 13 points to clock it. All you have to do it relocate the vane ring to where you need it and remove the alignment pin.

Clocking it is easy, the difficult part is mounting the control actuator at the correct angle afterward.
