Hi all,

As the title says really, since I've been thinking about converting my 280E track car project to rack and pinion steering. A friend has got in touch to say he has a 190E 2.5-16v, steering box, that I can have. Which is roughly 2.5 turns lock-to-lock.

This sounds like the simpler option to me, just just swap 1 steering box for the other, so has anyone done this swap?

Thanks Frank.

16v's don't have rack and pinion, its just a short ratio steering box. I have both a W123 300TD & a W201 16v, if you were to ask me I don't think it will be a bolt on affair. Do you have a welder and fabrication skills?
