Has anyone on the forum installed tomniks 7.5mm elements on an electronic M pump?

I have a pump ready to fit to my w210 606 but I was wondering if after the elements are swapped is it just a straight plug and play or does it need to be adjusted by a pump specialist?

because my car is remapped could there be any problems with idle etc?

Cant just 'swap the elements'

MUCH more to it than that, this procedure MUST be done by diesel-injection specialist with the parts and specialist test-bench to set up the pump properly--Even though it IS elect controlled....

Sorry maybe I should have explained better.

The swap has already been carried out by a diesel specialist, the elements are already in the ip, only thing now is to fit it.. that was my question, now the work was done on the bench is it as straight forward as plug play?

I have Tom's 7.5 elements in my OM606. It works OK but not great with the stock turbo. To reduce smoke, installed a small tube in the MAP sensor line with 2 1.5mm holes to prevent over fueling the stock turbo by fooling the MAP sensor.

1998 MB E300 - 194,000 miles. Current/future mods: 7.5mm pump elements, Holset HX40 Turbo feeding Eaton M90 supercharger through custom fabbed intake system. Aeroturbine muffler, scratch-built 4" stainless exhaust. EGR eliminated, ECM recalibrated, modified rack position feedback circuit. Porterfield RS brake pads, Bilstein sport shocks, VDO EGT, oil and boost gauges.

2000 Ford F250 - 150,000 miles. Current/future mods: DP Tuner 3 map chip, scratch-built high flow intake, high output IDM, open circuit fuel system, ball bearing turbo, South Bend full metal clutch, slotted and drilled rotors. Autometer Sport Comp EGT and boost gauges.

No problem for me I already have a gt28r fitted.

So whatthis basically means that once the IP is fitted It should be drivable without having to adjust anything for things like Idle, but It might be a little smokey?

Correct me if im wrong!

no photo right now but I will take some, and post them

right now WG is not actuated... I figured that the standard IP cant get the Fuel to run this turbo upto a dangerous level as its ball bearing and on petrol engines this turbo is rated for 360bhp...

I will take a line from the compressor outlet with a manual boost controller to control the WG, I just ordered the parts from ebay and am waiting for them now.

Wastegate actuator on this thing s very stiff though, supposedly GT28R actuator is supposed to be set to 11psi from factory, but I can barely move the arm at all by hand... is that normal?

wich would indicate to me that your pump has a governor weight system wich eventually retracts the rack at a given RPM?

I had a omega 2,5td I was about to map myself, and did alot of investigating in the VE37 pump and the corresponding maps&electronics, there was the rpm limited electronically, and was at a given adress in the ECU program, possible to change.
If the rpm limiter is electronically limited in your pump, your software guy should be able to change it, if else Göran might be the man to fix it mechanically in the pump..

i don't think there are any mechanical weights in there. just a stepper solenoid controlled by pwm signals from ecu. i will check again but the only thing i noticed was the timing pointer on the end of the cam.

You can`t make higher max RPM modifying this type pump. Only way is to make it in software, but its old type ecu and its not so easy to find this limit.
