Dumb HX40 turbo question...
OK, I have this HX40 but I have yet to determine what type of intake flange it has despite a throrugh searching of the internet. So, I'm trying to find out:
Do all HX40's have the same inlet flange?
If so, what type is it - T3, T4, T6?
Would it be easier to just fab up my own flange since I'm making the whole manifold any way?
Thanks!
As far as I know, it is usually a T4 flange.....
Check the Holset site, which has the flange details on, although that page seems to take a while!
Measure up your current flange and compare...
These guys make complete manifolds for HX40 to 605 and 606, they also supply the 'blanks' (Flanges)

Should be a T3. Holset didn't go any bigger on them until the HX50 range was developed.
The HX40 came in both T3 and T4 flanges with many variations in comp wheel, turbine wheel, and exhaust housing sizes.
Hx40 has 3 sizes, t3, t4 and bigger t4 (89x70?) for size 19 on exhaust
my smalest, first turbine was 16cm it was T3. now its 17cm housing T4 on my hx40.
I had a T4 housing that was a 19cm. I believe they came with a 20cm as well. A T3 16cm should be the smallest housing available for an HX40
