FS- One of a kind custom VO/utility trailer $800
FS- One of a kind custom VO/utility trailer $800
I made this thing a couple years ago for long distance trips on VO, and its time to sell it. (considering a teardrop) Its a custom made dual parts bin bolted to what was originally a motorcycle trailer, and between the parts bins is a 50 gallon boat tank.
the trailer is rated up to 800 lbs of stuff, and the idea was to load it up with VO, and have yourself a couple thousand miles of range towed behind you and refill your tank from the trailer on the road, gave my 300D about 1300 miles of additional range. I made several road trips without stopping for fuel at all, which was a real pleasure. The bins allow you to carry spare parts and tools, or camping equipment is what I used them for.
It has an extremely low tongue weight, under 50 lbs id estimate. The hitch is a 1-7/8 ball. Additionally, it also has a spare tire holder on the front for the car, as well as its own spare tire mounted on the side, as well as a nifty spring loaded stand for static storage. The whole thing is painted black, and the parts bins are lockable, BUT i haven't found the key for them anywhere, so the tumblers might have to be replaced. (the bins are unlocked)
This is a weird item, but well built and pretty useful for what it was intended for. Im looking to get 800 dollars for it. let me know if you have any questions
Some pics- A little dusty here, construction is aluminum, and the frame is steel. tank is plastic
Wow, man...sure wish I had the spare dough. You'd be shipping it out here today.
I built the thing because im not pretty enough or persuasive enough to talk my way into oil bins with regularity.
Never raided, that just makes it more difficult for everyone doing oil stuff, just makes more sense to ask, and respect the owner if they tell you to fuck off.

So you ask nicely, "sir, oh sir, may I please raid your used fry oil bin?", and then proceed to do so. The point is you have a nice carry tank handy. It would probably be fairly easy to add on a filtering assembly to that trailer if one so inclined to on-the-go filtration too. I've personally never gotten into WVO yet, but the place I work is next door to a restaurant so there's a used oil bin out back that I'm sure nobody cares about.

Did you need to beef up the rear suspension to carry the extra 30 gallons of VO?

Yeah...thought it might. I have a 22-gallon SS auxiliary tank sitting in my back yard, dimensions are right, I'm thinking of mounting it behind the regular one. And MacGyver-in the SLS from a TD to support it. But, ah, how to pump it?

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
At that price I might just grab it for refueling/ repairing tractors in the field.

well one of you needs to buy this sucker then. Its taking up valuable space that could be better occupied by the 3 large appliances and 4 hand-trucks I have right in the middle of my way.
modification I would make is softer springs. Unloaded it tended to bounce pretty bad. Or use it to mix drinks as a tailgater party tool
