Which turbo for modified 617?
Which turbo for modified 617?
I am trying to decide on which wastegated turbo for my 617 that will hopefully have one of Goran's 6mm M-pumps. I am running a higs stall converter and am looking for better low end and not worried about top speed. I am considering the MasterPower R442-2 as well as a Turbonetics T3 F1-49 50trim .48A/R in either a standard or ball bearing. I am not worried about price, just performance. I am leaning towards the ball bearing turbonetics but am open to all suggestions.
larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
I fprice is no issue, a larger variable vane will get you what you want. Others can chime in on the exact model(s).

I can get the turbonetics ball bearing for $850.00 new and the standard for $600.00 or the MonsterTurbo R442 for roughly the same price as the ball bearing turbonetics.

With a budget that high you should be able to get a used HE351VE, but be warned-it's a HUGE turbo

Forum member kmaser has said his 617 in his G-wagon with 6.5mm MW elements and the Master Turbo R444-2 is working awesome. He was looking for low end grunt and a good top end.

Yes huge turbo, probably not a good choice for low end power.
