An engine tilter will save you a TON of trouble. They're worth the $50, you will definitely want one if you're swapping motors.

Also, drain the fluids before you pull it. The coolant drain is a 17mm hex headed plug on the passenger side under the alternator.

Don't forget, that's a 600# ish motor. Don't stand under it when it's in the air it will flatten you

Are you scrapping the W123 body. If so, just cut out the radiator support (obvioulsy, remove the radiator and condensor). That will make things a lot simpler.

He has a pristine California 1980 300SD. It would be a shame to cut it up

Cool thanks! If no one buys the rest of the car for $350 (with an almost perfect body) I'll scrap it, so if there's no interest by the time I yank it, I'll start cutting. It is a shame! Car is in such good shape, but I don't need it as a yard ornament!

What condition is the interior in?

-1982 300D Turbo, 280k miles, ALDA apparently maxxed, fram 8038, 12 lbs boost, non-egr manifolds, W/M injection, 4 brake light mod, Gen II w126 front rotors/calipers, 4-speed swap
In the works: A/W IC, adjust pump, turbo rebuild (w/60 trim comp wheel)
-1980 300SD, 110k, project car. Goal is to get it lookin' like it did on the showroom floor (body and interior wise, not necessarily under the hood )
-1974 240D, FRESH PAINT!!!!!!

Dash is cracked, drivers seat has a couple tears, the rest of the interior is in great condition! I'll take some pictures tomorrow and put them in the for sale thread
