Just removed 2 glowplus from my OM606
There is a great guide here
https://sites.google.com/site/alanmcreyn...cedesom606
But regarding using Ø4 drill and M5 Tread not worked for me.
Meaby it was as i had the BERU in
Thats why i used Ø7 drill and made a 30 mm long M8 and then it got out GREAT :-)

I'm recommending a chasing tap, Bosch glowplugs, and dielectric grease to my friend with a new 606

Glad to hear you got it out

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

I've gotten all my gloplugs out without a problem but wondered if it would be good to put a drill through the glo diameter (ie not the thread) to clear out any build-up of carbon before I put them back.

Any thought on this please? 606.962 engine.

How did you remove the electrode in the centre of the plug before drilling?

I have a head on the bench with the same problem right now, with plug snapped off level and electrode protruding so I can't drill out.

On another head I tried leveraging the electrode with vice grips, but just broke the electrode off level Sad

I was planning to use high-speed turbing grinder & 3mm carbide end mill to try to cut back electrode, but perhaps you have a better solution?

used a tool dont know the word :-)
but one like this

turned it clockwise and anticlockwise until it broke off in the button.

Then you are free to make the thread and pull it out
