I did it 95 Turbo 606
OK here it is I acquired a couple of turbos this year from a hx 35,hx 40,k29, and a monster Cummings turbo. So I machined the flanges for split man. and built a header and full 3" exhaust. I put the HX35 on the motor I still need to put a egt gauge and and a boost gauge on the exhaust. I currently am getting 15lbs of boost at 5000 under load. I can only get 5 lbs in neutral revving it. I have the 12 cm exhaust I saw it works great for 300 hp which is said to be ok on this motor. I want to turn the pump up until I can get a modified pump from myna or with the 7.5 elements.
Nice job! I wouldn't worry about boost in neutral - you really need a load, i.e. driving to produce good usuable boost and what fun is boosting in neutral
Nice work, but put a intercooler there! Your boost won't build due to lack of fueling. It will work very nicely with the modified pump, I' d say 25psi before 3000rpm.
W124 300D or turboD pump? What tranny?
If your engine is original turbo-606, then it's okay for around 450hp with stock internals. HX35 won't be enough for that
original 95 non turbo motor and trans I get 15 lbs by 4000 under load it is a huge increase on the hills here in Portland. I am shooting for 300 hp don't need that much more. I know the trans prob won't hold but will over come that when it starts slipping. The Intercooler will be on in the next couple weeks same with the pump turn up.

Maybe I should try, the 603A in my TDT is a bit oil-consuming.
Hi there.. According to my search on EPC, there are oil cooled pistons, just not so much cooling as there is on the turbo versions. The turbo versions use a different pistion with channels in them to cool even more.
There should be room for an I/C in the lower portion of your bumper. Would any of you recommend a cooler size for a W124 if I need it to be in and out the same side i.e. right hand? The bigger the better?

Boost won't kill N/A OM606, it's the torque (as connecting rods are the first to give up). The head gasket withstands around 3bar boost no problem. The pistons are different, but no worries there, proven to withstand at least 90hp/cyl.
It's been proven hard to get under 300hp from OM606 with Mynä-pump and a proper turbo..

I have over 6000 miles on it and it is so much more fun to drive.The car gets about 34 mpg even with some flogging. I have a 603 turbo pump to put on it after I get Tomnik's 7.5 elements. This car goes down the interstate so much better at all speeds. If you have a NA 606 and were worried don't be, mine is better to drive and less stress considering I don't put my foot in it as much anymore.
602, 603, 605 N/A, 606 N/A dont have mls head gasket.
But that can be put on 605 and 606 turbo engine. That fits also 602/3 but there has to drill couple holes.
When you get that 7.5mm pump in it and it, then you know how weak those N/A rods are.
Do you have any video showing how that OM606 spools with the HX35 (with 12cm² wastegated turbine housing)?

That seems to spool pretty well - very good to know.
Must be nice to have a mechanical pump OM606 that doesn't defuel at the shifts. Mine defuels in a big way since my transmission is worn...grrr.

For supply line I pulled the oil filter housing and tapped the outlet for 1/8 npt and t off the sending unit. As for the return I drilled and tapped the block just above the oil pan I can send pics if needed. The motor is completely stock so no oil pump change.

So the turbo sits on top of your manifold, i'm guessing weld els for the manifold, a support bracket would be good to add anyhow. What's the size of that, ID is also a good reference?
Flange looks cut with a grinder or torch.
And how about the exhaust ports matching the flange on yours as it is a 4 valve, oval ports to round tube is a bit bad for flow unless you purposely add lots of weld material and then grind back..
I have access to CNC machines for having a flange made, and will be doing both a TIG and a MIG to weld, so mine will probably be a bit more refined. Making it car show neat as it is. No offence about your manifold.
How did you drill the return and get the shavings out? Without dropping the pan i see no solution other than flushing the whole sump in diesel or having a magnet on the drill. Even so flushing it would make me sleep sounder.

I can easily get a 722.6 for you. There are many 722.6's at the yard I frequent.
How much are they I have to look around here just tried my normal yard and they don't have cars that new? Also wonder what shipping to 83646 would be?

I have same engine on my dailydrive C124. So if I put original turbo manifolds and turbo (+build turbo lubrication) and turn up my injection pump (wich has original 5.5 elements) than I should get ~120-130kW??
Or which turbo to choose if I´m not planning to modify my IP elements (just planning tu turn full load screw)?
Of course I need intercooler too.

I just talked to Goran he said the pump is finished. I submitted my payment so Goran said he will ship the pump tomorrow then I will just be waiting on the postal system. I can't wait to get to drive it with this pump. I also just replaced all the bushings in the rear end and installed my new sway bar.

Well I installed my pump and took it for a test drive by myself wow what a difference. I will try and get some video the next couple of days. I have to go get it smog checked they want to pull registration otherwise. I am very happy with the power gains and I haven't even hooked up the alda for the extra little kick.
