Hi.

I have this old 1988 190d with the om601.913 engine. Its a pretty weak engine, but yet rock solid.

Then i came across information about the Vito 2.3 TD. It has engine code OM601.970. And then i thought, is it possible to put this engine in my 190d?
Would it be a direct fit to the tranny? And what style pump does the 0m601.970 have?

Please help.

Best Regards

I recall the intake manifold not being very low profile on the .970, presumably because the van has more vertical engine bay space.

It will fit the tranny fine.

Thank you for the reply.

So this engine is a straight fit, besides the intake manifold?

I'll just build my owm manifold. Problem solved. Smile

But what about tunability of the .970 ?
