Nice! It should have really good low end spooling characteristics with the stock turbo what level of boost are you shooting for? are you going to build up the injection pump to match it?

There gonna be an 60 mm WG bypassing the small turbo when the exhaust back pressure is too high and no WG in the small turbo a strong spring will hold that shut.On the pressure site it will be no by pass just a big Inter cooler .

How do you reckon your log manifold compares to a tubular? I'm sure your setup is plenty powerful as it is. I'm also interested as to where to get some T's like that and how you bent yours if you don't mind sharing?

Very nice project, you got 2 turbos into a small spaceSmile Hopefully everything will work as planed. The only concern is heat and back pressure, hopefully the WG will keep up. A good idea will be to install a pressure and temp sensor in the manifold.
Will you push all the air coming from the large turbo trough the small turbo or will you bypass it when pressure builds up?

Hello you said you are using an external wastegate to bypass the high pressure turbo but there is no wastegate flange on the manifold?
The wastegate flange you fitted seems to be on the high pressure turbo outlet?

Or am I misunderstanding?

(09-08-2013, 12:53 PM)Sotvisp Finally i have mounted the new pump from Dieselmeken in my car.
The original leaking O-ring Pre filter is in the garbage bag and a "new" from an OM616 w 123 is mounted with "real" banjocouplings !! so no more bubbles .
I have started the car and i runs perfect ! so soon the turbos will be installed.

a couple of pics i made a tool for the pump with IKEA parts SmileSmile

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?

I think so. lesser degrees = better bottom, better response
never tried on my 15 but I know those who have fallen between 12 and 14 also: P

Sorry for the bad updates here i have an other projekt a 250tdt with 8 mm pump and ball-bearing turbo will be a new tread soon.
The 300 will be rebuild soon to bigger turbos for less back pressaure so as soon as some progress is made there will be updates.

Amazing Smile I have to ask Macke why I haven't seen this build. What's the next project then?

You have to visit the shop and look at the e36/46 om605 Compakt. It's really coming together now. Far from the old soot-whore 4-5years ago Cool

(10-02-2013, 04:53 PM)Hario Hello you said you are using an external wastegate to bypass the high pressure turbo but there is no wastegate flange on the manifold?
The wastegate flange you fitted seems to be on the high pressure turbo outlet?

Or am I misunderstanding?

Compounding with the stock turbo without complete bypass (sequential) is a really bad idea with regards to back pressure...

Maybe so, but I bet the real problem was LP getting in surge area -> high back pressure. Looking from T70 compressor map, it is very bad choice for LP.

Also both these turbos are very old design with poor best efficiency -> hot IATs and unnecessary high BP even if they were correctly matched to each other.

I can't get my head around this setup. There must be a wastegate between the big turbo and the 2nd manifold exit I guess?

Only enough wastegate bypass is needed to keep manifold back pressure down, 44mm for example?

The HP turbo only needs enough exhaust to drive the compressor wheel to produce 15psi PR (example figure).

Tito, there is a wastegate bypassing the small high pressure (primary) turbo, this is usually boost pressure referenced. But my setup will see the primary turbo wastegate reference exhaust manifold pressure. So it bypasses when exhaust pressure gets to an unacceptable level dictated by me and probably my EGT/EGP gauges.

Keep it up, compounding is the unsung hero of all things coal powered! Lol
