Well first its not a 602 but a 662 2,9 L engine in the SsangYong second the 1 one the picture is a NA model with a aftermarket or homemade turbo/intercooler set on it
my own 2,9 OE turbo intercooler is much faster than the car in the video only with max fuel pump setting and KN filter
but nice project what pump are you using Audi/ VW 2,5 TDI or the older IDI version
what are the power goals and are you getting it on the dyno.

how did you get this to work?
interested in a ve pump on mine to, they make a lot more fuel then the m pumps.

larsalan I guess I need to look at this stupid ass drip shit. What you have to like mess with those elements on the pump? What a fucking hassle. then use some wire to hold the throttle open or some shit?
If you ever come to visit Maryland bring your tools and I'll provide the beer

Pretty sweet. Really wish they made a 5cyl VE pump so I could toy with one on my 617. They do produce a very good amount of fuel, and they have dynamic timing. Be much much cheaper than a built M pump.
Can you achieve full fueling to high rpm? I always heard they had trouble keeping case pressure at high rpm

I would have to say based on this thread about a 5 cylinder 602 with a ve pump they do indeed make one.....

Duh... I guess I should have payed more attention...
I'm still curious to how reliable and effecient they are at high rpm
Where did that adapter come from? I'm not familiar with the 602, but it looks factory?
Looks like you could also adjust the timing on the adapter and the pump.

The problem with VE is that even if you get enough fuel at high rpm, the injection duration is long compared to properly built inline pump. As there's always only one rotary piston, the problem is much worse with 6cyl than with 4cyl. Bigger distributor head shortens the duration, but I don't see i.e. 14mm VE realiable enough for a daily driver.
250hp is still easy, but in practice at closer to 4500 than 5500 revs. Max revs can be whatever you want, but don't expect to have serious power high up.

Can you explain? I just wonder why the Cummins guys with 14mm VE pumps have trouble above 3k rpm. Do you think they just aren't getting the pumps built correctly?

Could there just be a new section called Rotary vs Inline... Seems like this discussion is always coming up every time offroaddieselhu posts a project that he has done with a VE pump.

Not a bad idea, I know they are direct injection and pushing a lot more fuel than these little merc engines
But we have a 354ci Perkins that's runs a modded 330cc roosamaster pump that turns well over 4500rpm and we have had no problems with it yet. I just wonder what makes the difference

It's in a tractor actually, and it had a Borg Warner s300 based turbo, a little larger than 60mm inducer

Is that an geomatric VGT turbo? (VNT)?
How much fluel distributed by pump?

Nope, it is fixed geometry. It's a pulling tractor, so no need for vgt.
Pump puts out 330cc

Not sure honestly, but it doesn't burn very clean. I doubt it is 800hp, never had it dynoed and the turbo is too small to support that hp. But spool up is a big deal for us
Hello,
I have the same engine as yours, om602.980 from sprinter in my g wagen for 4 years.
It is rotary pump direct injection electronically controlled.
My aim is also to get around 200hp without electronics And sensors involved.
Is your engine using any electronics with this rotary pump?

The injection pump. Göran's 8mm pump puts out 180cc if I remember right, our roosamaster was built to supply 330cc
