Hey guys,

any ideas where to search for an OM606 in Europe? I'm from the Czech Republic and these cars/engines are hard to come by here so I was thinking there must be some sites selling car parts that might have some OM606 for sale?

Or do you think it would be worthy to buy a w210 with a good conditioned engine, keep the engine and sell the rest for parts?

What do you think is better?

Thanks a lot!

Germany or England? Don't those two countries fail good cars on inspections and it's easier to sell than fix?

Yea, I'm pretty sure there must be tons of these engines for sale in Germany but since my German is VERY basic it's like impossible for me to google out some advertisement sites where might be a real chance to stumble upon an om606. Which is why I asked here after all Smile

The space for a car will hopefully soon not be an issue so I also think it might be the best solution. Looking at the prices at mobile.de etc I might have the engine for really cheap if not for free (depending on the price and condition of the donor car of course).

Still would like to see someone post some german car parts sites though! Smile

Thanks for the replies guys!

From the UK. The price for this is above average imho but the mileage is low.

In www.ebay.co.uk do a search on "spares or repair mercedes 300 diesel'

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid...&_from=R40

What you should bear in mind is if you are considering buying and driving back to Czech a complete car then it must be road legal for the UK. That means a valid MOT test certificate, Insurance and Road Tax disc. Without all of them you will be recognised by an ANPR (automatic numberplate recognition camera) and the police will confiscate the car until you can pay the tax due and any fine they impose. All of the above are now held on a central computer database and the police are cracking down on offenders. There are ANPR cameras everywhere.

Thanks a lot Druk, you're being very helpful!

Anyway I'm still just gathering info as I dont have the space to store an extra car neither an engine. And I might even decide to finish my Seat Ibiza TDI project and start gathering parts for the Merc meanwhile. We'll see

Thank you guys!
