Springs and sway bars for 78 300cd
Springs and sway bars for 78 300cd
So, I have a 78 300CD and I am looking to do some minor suspension work to it. From what I have read, it looks like I might be able to use progressive springs off of a Gas coupe. Does anyone know how these compare to my stock springs? Any difference in ride height?
It also looks like I can find bigger sway bars out of a TD wagon, does it matter what years? And, where can I find these? I have tried ebay with no luck as of yet.
If its of any help, my goal here is mainly to eliminate roll while keeping a nice ride. I don't want to turn it into a sports car, I just want it to feel a little less boaty.
Springs, same ride height, better handling.
Swaybar, turbo wagon 81 and up. Junkyards are you best bet or hitting up the other forums for people parting. Wagon springs up front with a link chopped off will probably do wonders.
Stiffer, if you have the FSM they have a complete chart of the 8 or so different springs that the W123 came in. If you are going to cut coils the best way is to start with a stiffer spring.
There is a 79 280CE @ PNP. Installing the rear springs in my 85 300D will
improve the handling?
There is also a 85 wagon Iam thinking about removing the front sway bar also.
since I installed the 240D 4-speed, and later used the 240D front springs to lower the front end. going into a sharp curves on a mountain road, the handling is a little mushy. most driving the ride is great.
Installing the wagon sway bar should take out the mush and stiffen it up, right?

Do the progressive springs have a different look to them? are they easy to identify?
