Hopefully Alcaid will chime in. I literally just posted in another thread that he has some awesome deals on holset chargers.
And, remember that not all hx30s are the same, so make sure you get what you want. Alcaid can elaborate more than I can, but I think a viable option also for you guys is a he221.
HX30W, 6cm turbine housing, 73/44mm compressor, 33-34lbs/min: 625USD (shipping and PayPal fees included)
HX30W Super, 6cm turbine housing, 78/46mm compressor, 38-39lbs/min: 750USD (shipping and PayPal fees included)
Both are brand new and genuine Holset turbochargers, drop shipped directly from Holset factory.
Can also get the HX30W, 6cm turbine housing, 69/40mm, 27.8lbs/min (non-ported shroud comp housing) version, probably around 625USD for that one as well but will check, maybe a few bucks less.

Well I guess its tax return season. They come up, just keep an eye out. I am probably going to be getting rid of mine but not any time in the immediate future. I'll keep an eye out.

HE221W has better transient response as the rotating assembly is much lighter, it flows up to 37.8lbs/min and has a very good surge margin but compressor efficiency is low.
HX30W has much better compressor efficiency but is a lot more mass to spool.
On a 1.6-2.0 liter engine, I would go HE221W
2.5 and bigger, HX30W, 40, 42, 44 or 46mm (Super) inducer versions depending on how much hp is needed.
If ultra fast spool and response is what one is after and 25-30lbs/min is enough air, HE211W 5cm is a winner!

Is that a stock pump and how much fuel is it delivering?

Interesting. Im thinking the 211w is the way to go for a nice stop and go traffic experience. I doubt I will want to run more than 200hp anyway even with a new pump. I just want it to spool instantly.
Later if I get bored I can put more fuel in and a hx30 super or whatever.
Where is that guy with the precut manifold flanges? Gonna have to weld a new one up with the right turbo flange. T25?

Austincarnut may want it. That turbo is too small for a big turbo in a compound setup. I think hx35 is as small as one could go. Big turbo compressor has to flow twice the volume of the small one (or more).

Congratulations on getting it built and running. That is a major accomplishment.
Seems like the big one should flow twice the volume of the small one if the boost is split evenly. Can the hx30 manage that?
Why do the compressors have to match? As long as there is a wastegate in the small one and exhaust goes thru it first, shouldnt the wastegate be able to blow enough exhaust thru the wastegate to get the big turbo spooled up? I realize that if the big compressor is too huge, it could be a problem. But i am counting on the wastegate to compensate for the small turbine housing on the small turbo.
Of course the best compressor matching would be with two vgts. Since the Dutch wont let the 200vg go yet we will have to make due with the 200wg and the 341ve.

Sold the HX30W-12cm 78/50mm 7-blade turbo to an OM606 build and built myself a new one: HX30W-12cm 73/50mm 11-blade extended tip GTX style compressor wheel. Currently sitting on top of a HE200WG-5cm in my trackday car.
