hey i am going to buy a w201 with om603 engine. it is now manual, but i am thinking about putting in an automatic gearbox. what do i need to get this working?

The auto trans, starterring / flexplate, torque converter (and the corresponding bolts), shorter driveshaft, gearbox mount, gear selector with linkage, bowden linkage, some vacuum lines, P/N and R switches should be connected, kick down switch.

You could choose to just dump the clutch pedal, or swap pedal cluster.

Oh, and I think there's some kind of vacuum regulating valve controlled bij the throttle lever on the pump, to control shift firmness. You'll need that too.

Radiator with cooler and gearbox oil cooling pipes. Possibly inlet manifold with associated bellcranks to suit gearbox pull cable linkage? Speedo cable? Definitely the pump control for the gearbox vacuum modulator. 

More bother than it's worth imho.

Fit a 722.6 w/Ole controller? Then you can throw away all the vacuum balls




Installed:

OM606/722.6, big IC, W220 brakes.
Planned:
DIY manifold, compound, 722.6 controller, built IP.
