OM603 Turbo
OM603 Turbo
Hi i recently got w124 with a om603 turbo and i was wondering if there are any turbos that i could swap on it without changing anything that comes stock on the engine. Im not looking for much just a little more power then stock and something that spools pretty quickly since its mostly just a daily driver. Thanks
If your manifold looks like this, then you have the trap ox delete manifold.
If it doesn't then you have a lot of T3 flange options

Yes, as long as there's clearance between the frame rail and the manifold. Congrats:-)

I just put an HX30 in my car with trap ox manifold, it was a real pain to get in but it fits, just need to make an adapter to the exhaust

I think you'll be much happier with a 90cc 7.5mm pump on an otherwise stock motor than with any turbo upgrade using a stock pump.

The best you'll get from a new turbo with the stock pump is a different power curve, maybe like 5 hp from a better flowing turbine and cooler egts, but with stock fuel it probably makes little difference. I can say the HX30 is making more power down low for sure, but I mostly did it for future upgrades / for fun. Cost wise, yeah, a new pump will have the biggest effect by far, you just need to keep an eye on EGTs if you are going to run the stock turbo- they are only good up to 18-20 psi. Not sure what dieselpumpuk costs, but dieselmeken is probably the biggest supplier. I think DPUK might use his pumps / elements. Also, Ray got his from Diesel Injection Systems in California which is an "approved" dieselmeken shop in the US - might save some money on imports / shipping. Price is pretty close though between the two.
