Does anyone know where I can find specs for the operation of the timing device on the various OM60x engines?
What I'm specifically looking for is information on the timing curve they are expected to operate with, at what engine speed the timing should start getting advanced, at what speed there should be the full amount of advance and how many degrees of advance does the sprocket add at full speed.

Full geometrically possible advance - measured by eye and a geo-triangle - is about 20 - 25 cranck-degrees

Ok. I am finding that my engine definitely wants less advance at low speeds now that it has a 7.5mm pump, but although acceleration is good it feels flat up top and has high EGT so I'm thinking it may need more high speed advance.

last I spoke with diesel meken on phone they had made so it could advance 5 degrees more, but if you run high rpm it will be a limeted factor, guy in the tractor pulling are doing 50 degrees but the advance do not change and I guess it is why they needs to take it really easy when they spin iyt up to boost

Maybe that is because of the 7,5mm elements.

Yes, my engine sounded much smoother with 6mm elements. It was suggested to me to try special injection nozzles that reduce pinging. I will post an update when I have tested those.
I also want to do some development on the pump timing, find the curve that gives me the best performance.
