looking for more power on a daily driver

I'm taking the next steps and would like a better performing turbo on my 1984 300TD with a 617-95X.  It's a stock turbo now.  I'll be upgrading my exhaust to 3 inches and adding the older 617 high rise intake manifold.  This is a daily driver and I want boost at low end but more power as well. My current 0-60mph is 9 seconds.

Please advise.   Big Grin

depends on your budget. i would recommend something in the 35/lb min range which should be enough for good power and spool quite quickly. that could be a HX30, HE221W, various TD05 turbos, GT2860R, or a borg warner EFR6258.

85 300D om617: 8mm M pump 175cc 5200rpm, holset he221w @ 30psi, large A2W ic, compounds on the way.

Do you know what size elements / cc the pump is? I assume 7mm since you have had it for a few years

I cannot recall what your intercooler situation is, but you will need a good one before you try to burn that much fuel, probably.

Yes, most likely route is a AW unit which is compact and underhood.
