OM617 Injection pump timing surprise
I just began checking my MB OM617.950 injection pump timing and found some results surprising to me.
Checked chain stretch - 2*ish out. Removed compression spring and delivery valve. Throttle held full open, constant 5 psi of fuel supplied to IP with pump sprayer.
15* ATDC Compression stroke - start of flow
175* ATDC Compression stroke - stop of flow - or 160* of crank flow with #1 flowing.
25* BTDC Exhaust stroke - start of flow
25* BTDC Compression stroke - end of flow - or 360* of crank with #1 flowing.
Why are there two #1 cylinder injection pump flow sequences within the 4 cycles?
