OM 606 FJ 45 Fan Relocation
OM 606 FJ 45 Fan Relocation
In working on a customers Toyota FJ 45 I found the stock location for the engine fan was to low and offset for the stock radiator.
Just sharing a solution I came up with , may help others with the same issue. I used a Mercedes gas engine fan relocation bracket bearing that has the same fan setup as the OM 606 with the center bolt, as well as DieselpumpUK's alternator relocation bracket and small water pump pulley.
Clean setup. Wish I had room for the oe fan in my conversion. Long engine = electric fans in front of radiator only
AlanMcR Quite clever. Seems like there will be a problem with routing the top radiator hose though.I will be running a 90 degree tube out of the head. Already solved that. Obviously this is still in the mock up stage.

Long engine = electric fans in front of radiator onlyI have never had much luck with electric fans unless they were a factory style as in the late JK jeeps, and they even have cooling issues. It is sometimes a lot of work to run the OEM fan but there is nothing worse then a vehicle that over heats. Especially on an off road vehicle.
