617 5500rpm
Yup. My car with the hy35 pulls way harder 2800-5500 than stock turbo at the same boost.
How are you revving 5500?
(02-20-2011, 05:27 PM)ForcedInduction He isn't.

(02-21-2011, 12:09 AM)dieselboy Im not?Right, you're not. The governor will not let the engine go above 4800rpm while loaded. Neutral revving and 1st gear isn't "pulling hard to 5500".

Really people taking threads so far OT makes a mess of useful information for others. Please continue your discussion politely.

Kickdown or no kickdown, what does it matter? He was accelerating... doesn't matter if he's going up or down a hill, he definitly wasn't coasting and gaining gaining speed like that. RPM is RPM!
I manually put it in 3rd and you can see the speedo go to 85mph in 3rd.
Do you have any EGT or boost readings doing that? Were you able to hit that RPM with just pulling rack limiter and adjusting the full-load? Thats amazing!
20-21 psi of boost 1050 egt lol. I dont have the pyro mounted yet but I ghetto'd it to check it and make sure I wasn't nuking it.
Oh and that was Actually a slight uphill on the freeway.
Forced car to explain that chart? I think I'm reading it right as the white =1st and goes to 65kmh
135@5400rpm if you pause the video.
The chart needs to show rpm I'm every gear related to speed.
Holy crap, thats just epic!! Thanks for the info!

Uh the tach is not wrong you are. And yes if I shift at 5 it does pull harder but that was just to show you that it does indeed pull over 4800 rpm.
I'll do another video then.
Edit: 5347rpm in 3rd says 140kmh. Um pause the video and I'd say it's perfect according to your chart there.
(02-25-2011, 03:03 PM)dieselboy Uh the tach is not wrong you are.NUH UH, U R!!!1! Sorry, your kiddie game doesn't work here. Factual data does and your own video shows your tach has electrical problems.
Quote:And yes if I shift at 5 it does pull harderSo please remind everyone, whats the point of your "I can revv to 5500rpm" game if you yourself say its slower than shifting at the correct RPM before the governor reduces fuel? You're pretty much saying "I can piss 8 feet even though the toilet is only 2 feet away.".

What'd your deal man? There is proof that your chart matches my rpm in the given gear within 100rpm!
And yes the tach does randomly not work but when it does work it's within 100rpm as showed by your charts.
By not working I mean it will drop to zero and not move.
(02-25-2011, 03:16 PM)dieselboy By not working I mean it will drop to zero and not move.As well as jump several hundred RPM and randomly twitching. Please try to be honest and tell the entire story.

Again look at your charts and the video.
Hard govenor is 5750ish.
(02-25-2011, 03:26 PM)dieselboy Hard govenor is 5750ish.Incorrect, 5500rpm is the hard cut (zero fuel) with 5200rpm the governed maximum.

Again you said that I'm not Reving over 4800 rpm you said that my tach is off you said that it won't make any power over 4800 with a load.
So I did a video showing that's false and then you try to show charts ad other crap but accordin to your charts it's all correct proving yourself wrong.
(02-25-2011, 03:50 PM)dieselboy Again you said that I'm not Reving over 4800 rpmThat was correct.
Quote:you said that my tach is offThat is correct. You should fix it.

Quit trying to edit your previous posts too.
(02-25-2011, 04:16 PM)dieselboy What? Again look at the video and your charts. It proves I am wrong. What problem is there then. Try reading the charts and using a conversion tool instead of guessing at the KPH-MPH conversion.

Uh it's obvious you have a problem with admitting you are wrong.
If you watch the video an compare it to the chart that you posted everything us correct for me to be reving to 5500 rpm and the speedo even has kmh on it so you can pause it look at the chart and see that the tach is indeed correct to the speed and gear.
I've not once edited one of your quotes. And I've not once edited a post without showing what I edited.
FYI according to your information I am actually older than you so respect the elders!!!
I you read the very first post it says "pulls harder than stock 2800-5500" and thats correct.
Now If my tach is the 700rpm off you say it is then I'm idling at 1400rpm and making full boost by 2100rpm. That's not correct at all. Go back to you little make belief world.

According to his signature, he has the 3.07 rear end and 245/50R16 tires. BUT, as long as its the stock diff/trans/speedo combination, it doesn't matter what tire size you have, the indicated speedo/rpm will read the same as before. But back to those graphs now... I've been looking at the video, and dieselboy is right. He is at the stated KPH (MPH) that the graph shows he should be at in 3rd gear. Right before he shifts back to 4th gear at the end of the video it shows just under 140KPH at just under 5500 RPM. Keeping in mind the camera is mounted low and at an angle, that still puts him spot on for both the charts that FI posted. Doing the math, 140KPH works out to just about 5400 RPM even. Even if you figure for the camera angle, that still looks right.
Me n' Jethro ciphered it out & I think that Dieselboy is right.... Took 27 of our clansmen, but we gathered enough toes & fingers......

Of course here we all are in comparison to this guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7otPz_T_O...playnext=4
Thanks guys. I was going up a hill "under a load" to show that it will pull over 4800rpm oh and that's still faster than it would stock lol.
We will never get him to admit it though. I think the lack of oxygen in Colorado has side effects.

Good lord.. Every thread where it seems we're all getting somewhere it turns into a big fight. Reminds me of high school..
Anyways, just from driving a 617 around for years and years on end, I'd like to say that it sure sounds like 5000+ RPM. Or maybe my speakers are having electrical problems too..
The world may never know.
Suck, squeeze, bang & finally BOOM !!!
If he pushes his engine & it grenades, we then know what the limits are.
Without that knowledge, we do not know how far to go.

(02-27-2011, 10:25 PM)ForcedInduction Increasing it is very easy. The problems are keeping the engine together and the torque converter ballooning from the extreme fluid pressure.Makes me want a scatter blanket now... oh, wait, flywheel is 4 inches in front of the firewall for me!
The flywheel on a manual is another issue completely, there is a LOT of energy in that mass and if it breaks apart it will do some massive damage to the car and your legs.
